Alexandra Browne, M.A., L.P.C.

Alexandra Browne, MA, providing therapy for anxiety, burnout, and life transitions in Chicago, IL

A Warm Welcome

Embarking on therapy is a courageous and significant decision. I believe every client deserves to be met with respect, empathy, and a sincere commitment to their unique journey. I take the time to truly understand the personal meaning behind your experiences, providing a space where authentic growth can occur.

Rather than focusing on “fixing” you, my approach centers on collaboration and empowerment. I offer guidance, effective tools, and fresh perspectives to help you build clarity, confidence, and a deeper connection to yourself. My goal is to support you in discovering what it means to live authentically and meaningfully.

My Professional Background

I earned my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where I received comprehensive training in understanding individuals within their social and emotional contexts. My therapeutic style is integrative and grounded in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy, and I tailor my approach to align with your specific needs and values.

Before becoming a therapist, I completed an intensive internship in community health, working closely with individuals facing addiction. This experience solidified my dedication to compassionate, client-centered care and deepened my appreciation for the resilience inherent in the healing journey.

I view therapy as a collaborative endeavor and am steadfast in my commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment—one that honors both who you are today and who you aspire to become.

I accept BCBS PPO, Aetna PPO, Cigna PPO, BCBS Community, Meridian, and Medicaid plans.

My Therapeutic Approach

My work is grounded in a thoughtful blend of psychodynamic exploration and practical skill-building. By examining how your past experiences inform your present patterns, I help you gain insight into your life story.

I combine this depth-oriented work with CBT to support meaningful change and utilize narrative therapy to help you rewrite self-defeating narratives.

Recognizing the challenges of modern life, I also incorporate mindfulness practices, empowering you to cultivate presence, resilience, and authentic connection with yourself and others.

Who I Work With

I work with individuals feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward, even if things may “look fine” on the outside. Whether you’re navigating stress, relationship challenges, anxiety, or just feeling stuck in patterns that aren’t working anymore, you don’t have to figure it out alone. Sometimes these feelings are tied to past experiences that still show up in the present, and other times, it’s just the weight of trying to keep it all together. In our work together, we’ll take a breath, slow things down, and get curious about what’s going on underneath. We’ll make space for the parts of you that might feel ignored, overwhelmed, or need to be heard. Together, we’ll help you feel more grounded, more connected, and more like yourself again.
