Step 1: Initial consultation (15–20 minutes)
We start with a brief phone or video consultation to understand your concerns, discuss whether testing is appropriate, and outline what the process would look like for you or your child.
Step 2: Intake interview (60–90 minutes)
You’ll meet with the psychologist for a detailed clinical interview. We’ll review your history, current symptoms, medical and educational background, and what you hope to learn from testing. For teens, this often includes both the teen and a parent/guardian.
Step 3: Testing sessions (typically 1–2 appointments)
You’ll complete a series of standardized tests and questionnaires tailored to your referral questions. These may assess attention, memory, problem-solving, academic skills, and emotional functioning. Testing is usually completed over one or two sessions, depending on the scope of the evaluation and your stamina.
Step 4: Scoring, interpretation, and report
After testing, your psychologist will score and interpret the results, integrating test data with your history and current concerns. We then prepare a written report that summarizes findings, provides diagnoses (if appropriate), and offers clear, practical recommendations.
Step 5: Feedback session (60 minutes)
You’ll meet with your psychologist to review the results, ask questions, and discuss next steps. For teens, we can provide feedback to both parents and the teen in a developmentally appropriate way. With your permission, we can also share relevant information with other providers, schools, or workplaces.
Most evaluations are completed within 4–6 weeks from intake to feedback, depending on scheduling and the complexity of the assessment.
