When you’re not sure what’s going on, it can be hard to know what to do next. You might be wondering whether you or your child has ADHD, a learning difference, a mood or anxiety disorder, or something else entirely — and you want clear answers, not guesswork.
At Chicago Psychology Services, our psychologists provide comprehensive psychological and ADHD testing for adults and teens. We help you move from confusion to clarity with thorough assessment, clear feedback, and practical recommendations you can use at work, school, and in everyday life.
Who we work with
We provide psychological testing in Chicago for teens and adults, including college students, working professionals, and older adults who want clarity around attention, learning, mood, behavior, personality patterns, or cognitive functioning.

We tailor each assessment to your specific questions — for example, “Is this ADHD, anxiety, or both?” or “What’s contributing to my difficulty focusing and keeping up at work?”
Step 1: Initial consultation (15–20 minutes)
We start with a brief phone or video consultation to understand your concerns, discuss whether testing is appropriate, and outline what the process would look like for you or your child.
Step 2: Intake interview (60–90 minutes)
You’ll meet with the psychologist for a detailed clinical interview. We’ll review your history, current symptoms, medical and educational background, and what you hope to learn from testing. For teens, this often includes both the teen and a parent/guardian.
Step 3: Testing sessions (typically 1–2 appointments)
You’ll complete a series of standardized tests and questionnaires tailored to your referral questions. These may assess attention, memory, problem-solving, academic skills, and emotional functioning. Testing is usually completed over one or two sessions, depending on the scope of the evaluation and your stamina.
Step 4: Scoring, interpretation, and report
After testing, your psychologist will score and interpret the results, integrating test data with your history and current concerns. We then prepare a written report that summarizes findings, provides diagnoses (if appropriate), and offers clear, practical recommendations.
Step 5: Feedback session (60 minutes)
You’ll meet with your psychologist to review the results, ask questions, and discuss next steps. For teens, we can provide feedback to both parents and the teen in a developmentally appropriate way. With your permission, we can also share relevant information with other providers, schools, or workplaces.
Most evaluations are completed within 4–6 weeks from intake to feedback, depending on scheduling and the complexity of the assessment.
