Therapy is a powerful tool that can help individuals in so many ways! From improving mental health to gaining new insights and perspectives, therapy has the potential to transform lives. I understand that seeking therapy can be a difficult decision, but please know that it's a brave step towards improving your well-being. I want you to know that therapy can offer a safe and supportive space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. I am proud to have earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Northeastern Illinois University. During my time there, I worked closely with students from low-income families. helping them develop healthy relationships, building self-esteem, and honing their problem-solving skills.
Later, I pursued a Master's degree in Couples and Family Counseling from the same university. OIgained a deeper understanding of the complexities of family relationships. During my time in the program, I completed an internship at a nonprofit community mental health organization. There, I provided outpatient therapy to families and couples, and honed my therapeutic skills.
Through this role my role as a crisis therapist, I helped young people in crisis by providing them with the support and guidance they needed to overcome their challenges. I found working with teens and children a very regarding experience.
As a compassionate therapist, my focus is on creating a warm and understanding environment where you feel supported and heard. I am deeply passionate about guiding individuals through their challenges and helping them reach their personal goals. With years of experience and a diverse range of expertise, I believe in tailoring my approach to fit your unique needs.
I integrate various therapeutic techniques, including client-centered therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), family therapy, and couples therapy, into our sessions. These approaches not only provide a safe and non-judgmental space for exploring thoughts and emotions but also empower you to develop essential skills in mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Together, we will work towards your well-being and growth.
I help families navigate difficult situations, and strengthen their bonds by improving communication, resolving conflicts, and fostering understanding. When it comes to couples therapy, my focus is on helping couples repair and enhance their relationships by addressing underlying issues, improving communication, and building deeper levels of intimacy. Both family and couples therapy can be highly effective in promoting healthy relationships and improving overall well-being for all involved.
Overall, my priority is to provide patients with the tools and support they need to achieve their goals and lead happier, healthier lives. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or any other challenge, I am here to help.
